David Ortiz, perhaps more than any other Red Sox player, came to symbolize the "Reverse-Curse" of 2004, when his ALCS heroics helped Boston stage the greatest comeback in sports history en route to a World Series win 86 years in the making. "Big Papi" has continued to haunt the Yankees ever since:
